Who We Are

Our founding team comes from a range of backgrounds within consulting roles, in-house roles, and even the software side of things. They crossed paths in a variety of ways over the past decade+ and often compared notes about the challenges they were seeing when it comes to how organizations prioritized and deployed their efforts. facts & feelings is a direct outgrowth of those experiences, as the team has combined their diverse perspectives to enable organizations to realize the benefits of less…and better.

Val has spent her career working with “data” from many different angles—as a market researcher, establishing and leading the digital analytics function at the American Medical Association and then again at UBS, and serving a wide range of enterprise clients at an analytics agency. Throughout her career, she has applied her commitment to radical candor to effect organizational change in a wide range of situations.

She is a longstanding member of both the President’s Advisory Council and the Data and Analytics Advisory Board at her alma mater, Augustana College.

  • Tim Wilson

    Tim Wilson

    Co-founder and Head of Solutions

Tim started his career as an intern architect and then found his way to data and analytics by way of technical writing. He has worked in a variety of roles both in-house and as a consultant since the early 2000s helping large organizations such as Purina, P&G, DSW, Nationwide Insurance, GSK, Marriott, Warner Music Group, and UPMC put their data to productive use.

Tim leads the monthly Columbus Data & Analytics Wednesday meetup, which he co-founded in 2008, and he has been a co-host of the Analytics Power Hour podcast since it launched in 2015.

He relaxes professionally by finding excuses to program in R. When he steps away from his desk, it’s often to go for a run or to hop in a kayak with his camera to go looking for birds. He is based just outside of Columbus, Ohio, where he lives with his wife, a couple of dogs, and his various grown children whenever they pass through.
